I have practiced as a Pastoral Psychotherapist for 14 years and work primarily with individuals and couples. Specialties include depression, grief, and relationship issues. Other emphases include spiritual growth, life transitions, family of origin issues, premarital counseling and in-depth personal growth. I seek to help clients to become conscious of patterns in their lives that cause them to struggle in their current life and relationships. In understanding these patterns, clients can gain greater freedom to make changes in their lives, identify and claim their own innate strength and value, and move toward healthy self-acceptance.
I am a Fellow with the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and am licensed by the State of Maryland as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.
After graduating from seminary, I trained at the Institute of Pastoral Psychotherapy – a three-year clinical training program of the Pastoral Counseling & Consultation Centers of Greater Washington. Subsequently, I did post-graduate work in counseling psychology at the University of Baltimore.
