I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical and a Certified Substance Abuse Therapist with over 30 years experience helping those who are struggling with life issues. My guiding principle is that it is not what happens to us that determines our happiness, but how we handle what happens. This results in the ability to restore people to health and wholeness despite one’s circumstances. My primary areas of interest and expertise include addressing substance abuse, domestic violence, self-esteem building, depression, anxiety, and couple’s issues. I am recognized as a compassionate clinician, working as a partner in guiding people to wholeness.
The therapeutic approach that I use (called cognitive-behavioral) is well-suited for equipping clients to develop new patterns of thought and behavior leading to change. I work to assist the client in addressing the areas of need and growth without the expectation of a long-term therapeutic relationship, except where needed.
In addition to my clinical work, I am active in both worship and service in her local church and the wider community.
